| OISCA Youth Forum is the
Youth wing of OISCA-International. Very active in all areas of
activities, they have been assisting in all programs of parent chapter.
They also organize programs like training camps, campus forums, tree
planting programs etc. OISCA Youth Forum, or OYF as it is
called, has youth from all walks of life as its members. OYF provides a
platform for the youth to manifest and develop their talents, and prepare
them in our endeavour to protect our environment and Mother
Earth. |

Activities |
| The
activities of OISCA Youth Forum (OYF) is in line with that of
OISCA-international. Afforestation and maintenance of the planted
saplings comprise the major field of activity. Apart from the own projects
of OYF, the participate in the Children's Forest program, Love Green
movement, Save Green Clubs, Waste land development project, and other
activities of the senior chapter. The main projects undertaken by OYF are
the Project TREC and Project 49.Project TREC( Training and Research on Environmental Care) selects one project site for one year on the basis of need for
afforestaton, climatic conditions, soil structure etc. A systematic study
with the help of experts is done as to the project site, and the type of
plants are selected. Project TREC aims at at least 90% survival of the
planted saplings. The current project site is the barracks site near
Easthill. From October, TREC concentrates on environmental issues
like pollution, cleanliness etc and work in the field of awareness.
Project 49was proposed with the objective of crafting a
green-belt around a play ground which is located in the 49th ward of
Calicut corporation. About 65 % of the trees are growing well, and with
re-planting and maintenence, we expect very good results by the year end.
Other Activities:
Other activities include Training Programs and Camps, Nature
study Camps, Personality development classes, seminars, study tours,
career guidance etc. |

Only youth in the age
group 16-24 are eligible for membership. To become a member, the applicant
must either be recommended by an existing member or the applicant must
have undergone the Social
Awareness and Leadership Trainingcourse conducted by OISCA
International. Moreover, the membership form will be given only after
satisfactory participation in at least three general body meetings and
three tree planting programs.
Membership Fee: A registration fee of Rs.10/- and an annual fee
of Rs. 40/- is to be remitted by a member towards membership fee.
The Executive committee of OISCA Youth Forum will have the final
word in all issues regarding
